Our first park project to get under way began May 7, 2008 at Draper Drive Park. Draper Drive Park is one of the most heavily used athletic areas in the City and will undergo a much needed renovation transforming the two natural turf fields into two rectangular synthetic turf fields. As an added benefit, the fields will receive state of the art “Light Structure Green” lighting on both fields providing play into the early evening. The walking path currently around the fields will also be renovated.
Please note that access to the parking lot, trail and playground at Draper Drive park will be prohibited during the construction for your safety.
ALTERNATE PARK LOCATIONS
We also encourage you to visit any of our 22 other parks for your recreational enjoyment during this renovation. The closest playground can be found at Ranger Road Park and the closest rectangular athletic field is at Van Dyck Park on Old Lee Highway. Details about our parks, trails and their locations can be found here.
