RATCLIFFE PARK DRAINAGE PROJECT
Beginning June 2, 2008, the City approved drainage project will begin at Ratcliffe Park. This project is scheduled for 10 working days (weather permitting) and will not impact the use of the playground, basketball court and baseball field. We intend to minimize any disruption to the use of the park through out this short construction period.
The project involves installation of drainage pipe in the low lying area between the playground and the swings. All existing trees and park equipment will be retained and protected. No trees will be removed with the exception of three small dead trees along Locust Street. Six new trees will be planted, three along Locust Street and three near the north/west portion of the park.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me or the Ratcliffe Park Project Coordinator, Bertha Moseley at 703.385.7858 or via email at bmoseley@fairfaxva.gov. You may also find updated information on any park project at www.fairfaxva.gov and www.fairfaxparks.org.
